Position Description:
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to work on civil engineering and planning projects ensuring delivery of high-quality work products and execution of production operations. The position provides limited consultation to clients and applies expertise to guide project teams in research, preparation, and delivery of plans, designs, documents, and specifications.
Project types include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Healthcare & Federal, Commercial, Data Centers, Industrial, and Military.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Management: This position will lead a multi-disciplinary design team for the design and new construction of large and complex projects. Most of the projects will be for the federal government.
- Produces designs that may include site planning, horizontal layout, grading, stormwater collection and management facilities, potable/reuse water systems, gravity sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, erosion control, and maintenance of traffic.
- Produces technical letters/reports such as due diligence packages, calculation books, and traffic reports.
- Must comprehensively understand all permitting within the area of expertise, including local, state, and federal agencies.
- Performs field reviews, certifications, and post-design services.
- Must have a general understanding of entitlement processes and can support planning staff.
- Identifies, develops and implements technical tools, techniques, software, materials, and processes to optimize efficiencies and quality.
- Actively contributes ideas, expertise, and recommendations based upon industry knowledge.
- Travel to and visit project construction sites to observe construction progress and compose field reports. (Site visits may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out-of-town project locations).
- Assist the Project Manager.
- Performs technical and quality reviews of plans and specifications.
- Participates in client, agency, and consultant meetings.
- Prepares/Reviews fee and scope documents for clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
- Professional Engineer Registration or EIT preferred
- Five or more years of experience in the criteria above.
